These terms cover theflagexpert.com. By using the site you accept them. They are deliberately short, because this is a small site that publishes information and takes enquiries. It sells nothing, hosts no accounts, and carries no user content.

Who runs this site

theflagexpert.com is operated by Michael Green, a vexillologist based in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Contact details are in the privacy notice and on the contact form.

What the site is, and what it is not

This site describes Michael's work in vexillology: speaking, media appearances, writing, and flag design consulting. Everything published here, including any assessment or ranking of a flag, is commentary and professional opinion. It is offered for general information.

It is not legal, governmental, heraldic, or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for engaging someone to advise on a specific project. Do not act on anything here as though it were formal advice for your particular situation.

Getting in touch does not create an engagement

Sending the contact form, or receiving a reply, does not by itself create a contract or a client relationship. Any actual engagement for speaking, consulting, or media work is agreed separately in writing, and those terms govern that work rather than these.

Journalists and producers looking for approved photographs and biography text should use the press kit, which exists precisely for that.

Third party names and logos

The site names and shows the marks of organisations Michael has genuinely worked with or appeared in, including TED, The New York Times, The Washington Post, PBS, Reader's Digest, Encyclopaedia Britannica, Ad Age, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Those marks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify real appearances and engagements accurately. Their use does not imply that any of those organisations endorses, sponsors, or is affiliated with this site.

Michael is the founder of Flags For Good, and this site links to it. That connection is disclosed openly throughout the site so you can weigh it when reading anything here that touches on the company or its products.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. If a court decides any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest continues to apply.
